Well, it’s that time of year: the time when we start to flutter through the pages of our summer reading books, hoping to finish them and the associated assignments before the start of school... Ah, yes… school is starting soon.
In exactly 5 days, I will be starting my final year of high school. One more year with the community with whom I have grown so close. I’m looking forward to the cycle: the early wakeups, the late lunches, the smells of thirty seventh graders who think they’re too cool for deodorant in the commons in the morning. It’ll all be there.
This year, I’m challenging myself academically. 3 AP Courses. I’m immensely looking forward to the rigor. Something to keep me on my toes, to combat the inevitable onslaught of senioritis.
I’ll also be reaching for new ventures: I’ve agreed to be the photographer for the Varsity Football team. I’ve always enjoyed watching Football, but I’m not so up-to-par with the lingo and mechanics, so It’ll be a fun learning experience! I’m hopeful that I will be able to capture some moments for the JPII yearbook along the way.
In my spare time, work continues on building my media venture into a successful online business. We’ve got a banner at JPII’s sporting events this year, so that’s exciting.
I’m determined to keep an archive of my senior year here. No promises on how often the posts will be, but I’m shooting for once a week!
